Very sad news. Bruno Mars’ mother, Bernadette Hernandez, has passed, at the age of 55. According to Associated Press, she died at Honolulu at Queens Medical Center, of a brain aneurysm. A Hawaii resident, Hernandez was a former hula dancer and singer who immigrated to the U.S. from the Philippines and nurtured her son’s interest in entertainment. Bruno, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, is one of six children — including his four sisters who are currently in a girl group, and a brother who serves as the drummer for the Grammy winner’s band.
