Slowly but surely, the Christian world is putting it’s baby toe into the reality TV game. Shows like “The Sisterhood” and “The Sheard’s” have proven to be controversial, but also well watched. Not to mention the upcoming show, ‘Preachers of LA’ (which follows Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Wayne Chaney, Bishop Ron Gibson and Pastor Jay Haizlip, as they let viewers into not only their churches, but their day to day lives as well) will create more lanes with Christian’s entering reality TV. And such is the case of  Hollywood Exes, reality star Sheree Fletcher, who is well aware of the conflict of interest between non-scripted TV and Christians.

The ex-wife of Will Smith is the first lady of San Diego Church. In a recent interview with AmericanPreachers.com, she opened up about  issues her congregation had with their first lady doing a reality show, and what life is like these days, co-parenting with the now re-married Will Smith. Check out a few excerpts.

On keeping God first in reality TV:

I liked the concept of the show but I prayed on it, I took it to prayer and I had a peace about it…You know you have to stay prayed up doing a reality show. And even though our reality show is tame in comparison to some that are out there, you still have to keep Him first. I don’t take fame seriously, it’s a default kind of thing. I didn’t pursue it, it kind of comes with the territory. I feel this is a part of what God has called me to do, this reality show is a part of my journey.

Although she is now married to Terrell Fletcher, former NFL player turned pastor, she continues to have interaction with her ex-husband Smith for one reason: their son. The two split when their 21-year-old son was 3 years old, but continue to co-parent peacefully.

On co-parenting with Will and Jada:

It takes a village as they say [to raise a child]. It would have been hard for me to do this alone if I didn’t have my husband on board and if Will and Jada weren’t on board.
