Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Gives Lola Monroe Pink Slip: This Relationship Is Not Mutually Beneficial
Not so good for rapper Lola Monroe. Reportedly, Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Records has parted ways with the Ethiopian native. In an interview with XXL, a Taylor Gang executive confirmed that both Lola and in-house producer Cardo were no longer part of the Taylor Gang team:
After years of helping build their careers, we did not feel as if the relationships were mutually beneficial. We wish LoLa and Cardo the best but hope they move on in their respective directions without affiliating themselves to the Taylor Gang brand or name.
Ouch! Currently, Taylor Gang still has Ty Dolla $ign and Juicy J on their label. There’s been no official comment from Wiz Khalifa. Earlier this year, he gave Lola his stamp of approval stating:
She’s iller than any female artist I’ve ever heard in my life. She’s so much better than any female…just her lyrical ability.
And after inking a deal with Taylor Gang, Lola expressed her excitement:
Shout out to Wiz and we’re just getting it in. It’s all about that work. Wiz is an individual that’s all about his business and that matches everything on my side. When he reached out, he said, I feel as though our movements represent the same thing, so I want you to rep Taylor Gang. I agreed. It’s only right.
No word on what went wrong, but we wish her and her adorable bambino the best.
