[VIDEO] Coffee & Soul Music: Mary J. Blige Surprises Fans With Starbucks Concert, Sings Impromptu Duet With Fan
Tis the season to spread holiday cheer…and soul music, compliments from the Queen of Soul. This week, Mary J. Blige gave a few young women a helluva surprise. The Grammy award-winning artist shut down a Starbucks for a surprise concert.
Starbucks closed the store for the concert, which very few people knew about. Many of the young women in attendance were clueless as to who would be performing, until MJB took the stage with Grammy award-winning producer David Foster. Blige explained:
It was everything for me to surprise them for them to not know I was coming or for them to not know what they were in for..I’m filled so full with love because I got a chance to give back.
One of the highlights of the event was Blige pulling one of the attendees on the mic with her, to sing a duet of ‘Chestnuts’. Initially, the young lady was a bit shy, but eventually shared her vocals with a the intimate crowd who helped cheer her along.
