D.Wade Enlisted Sons To Help Gabrielle Union Proposal + Details On the 8.5 Carat Engagement Ring

It’s been less than 48 hours, since one of our favorite celebrity couples announced their engagement. Over the weekend Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade  surprised fans when they posted a picture of Gabriele’s sparkling engagement ring via Instagram and Twitter. Gabrielle wrote:

She later wrote:

And yes my hands were ashy… And yes my nails arent done… I was truly caught off guard but happy nonetheless :) lmao #ashyknucklesbringgoodluck

Now, we’ve got more details on the romantic proposal. Initially, we reported, that D.Wade proposed to Ms. Union at the Miami Heat Christmas Party. However, the romantic question went down at the couple’s home. D.Wade told the Associated Press,

Just a regular Saturday. My kids were involved in it. We asked her to marry all of us, not just me. We’re a package deal, so it was cool.

The three boys that the NBA baller is raising, his two sons and a nephew, all were part of the engagement surprise.

His youngest son Zion held a sign with her name. His nephew Dahveon Morris’ sign said “Will you.”And his oldest son Zaire’s sign read “marry us?” D.Wade had been planning this proposal for months (since October). Reportedly, the jeweler, Jason Arasheben, had made three trips to Miami, to meet with D.Wade and ensure the ring was perfect. He told the AP,

I kind of know my lady. I know she’s simple, but at the same time, I just wanted the rock to kind of speak for itself and not do too much with the diamonds. I think it’s a simple ring, but it’s nice. It was nicely done … it’s timeless.

His teammate, LeBron James knew the big day was coming sharing:

It took a lot for him to do it. But I think Gab is perfect for him. I think D-Wade is perfect for Gab. For them to be at one now and for their whole family to come together, man, I think it’s amazing. It’s another step for him. I thought it was pretty cool. I’m all for it. I’m happy for them.

Rumor has it, the final product was an 8.5 carat cushion cut diamond ring. The stunning piece is estimated to be worth close to one million dollars. No wedding date has yet been shared.
