Love Don’t Live Here Anymore: Beyonce’s BFF Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin Separate
Another Hollywood It couple has thrown in the towel.
After 11 years of marital bless, actress Gwyneth Paltrow (41) and singer Chris Martin (37) are ending their marriage. While the couple have not shared exact reasons for their break-up, they did explain that they have been trying to work on their relationship, for almost a year. How did they share the announcement? According to Page Six, Gwyneth posted the announcement on her website, Goop (the site has crashed a few times since we’ve reported this). The post, titled, Conscious Uncoupling, they write:
It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.”
They continue,
We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.
The message is signed simply, “Love, Gwyneth & Chris.” The couple jumped the broom in 2003 and have two children (Apple Blythe Alison and Moses Bruce Anthony).
Beyonce and Jay Z are said to be very close with the couple. Gwyenth has been referred to as one of Beyonce’s close friends. In an interview with E! News, Beyonce beamed about the actress:
She is incredible. She’s a great friend on every level. I think for us, protecting our daughters is so important and … keeping things on our own terms, so I will still be protective and make sure [Blue Ivy] has a childhood and a great time.
A few non-relevant, random facts –> Gwyneth was engaged to Brad Pitt (they dated from 1994 to 1997). She later called the engagement off. She also had an on-off three-year relationship with Ben Affleck (from 1997 to late 2000). Gwyneth and Chris met backstage at a Coldplay concert. Chris’ great-great grandfather was William Willett, the inventor of daylight savings time. He suffers from insomnia and has undergone sleep therapy. Before Gwyneth, his romantic life was kept under wraps, thus him not being linked to other celeb women romantically.
