[Photos] Atlanta Exes’ Tameka Raymond Honors Late Son’s Memory
Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond is keeping the memory alive of her late son, Kile Glover, who died tragically at the age of 11, in a boating accident in Atlanta’s Lake Lanier (after suffering from critical injuries). Over the weekend, the Atlanta Exes reality star held a 5K Run/Walk at Atlanta’s Chastain Park. Tameka’s reality TV cast mates came out to support, including Torrei Hart, Monyetta Shaw and Christina Johnson. Torrei shared her excitement about Tameka’s event, writing on Instagram:
I did a 5k today for a great cause. What an amazing day. I was feeling really sluggish this morning but I am glad I pushed through and came out to support@tamekaraymond for her sons foundation Kile’s World. Happy Birthday Kile may your legacy live on forever.#miles4kile #turnup
Just a few days before the event, Beyonce posted a flyer about Kile’s World, encouraging her fans to support this cause.
When she learned about Bey’s encouragement, Tameka wrote:
Woke up smiling this morning. Thinking about what an impact my son Kile has made. I’m so proud that Beyonce.com is acknowledging my efforts that only come from a pure place. I’m just eternally grateful for the support. If you are in Atlanta area please come and join us for a 5k walk at Chastain Park 140 West Wieuca on Saturday morning. #miles4kile#KilesWorld #BeyGood
This is Tameka’s second walk in Kile’s honor. Last December, before prepping for her first event, she told ESSENCE
I’m thinking about him every day, but he was my running buddy. That’s who I used to do my neighborhood jogs with all the time. He would be the only one who would be like, ‘Let’s go, mom.’ He kept me going.
The goal of the event is to raise funds for the Kile’s World Foundation’s art initiative and camps. Check out a few photos from the event.
