Oprah Pens Open Letter Mourning Loss of Maya Angelou: ‘I loved her & I know she loved me.’
The world continues to mourn the loss of famous poet/write, Maya Angelou. Oprah Winfrey, who has spoken publicly for years about her adoration of Angelou, shared a message on her Instagram, mourning the loss of who she considered a mother figure. She writes:
I’ve been blessed to have Maya Angelou as my mentor, mother/sister, and friend since my 20’s. She was there for me always, guiding me through some of the most important years of my life. The world knows her as a poet but at the heart of her, she was a teacher. ‘When you
