[Dear White People] True Stereotypes or False Depiction? Watch the Trailer!
Sam, a main character, hosts a radio talk show on campus, entitled Dear White People. Her show stirs up trouble on campus and draws an invisible line and brings more attention to a group of African Americans in a predominantly white college. Dearwhitepeoplemovie.com describes the movie as
A satire about being a black face in a white place.
The movie hits on specific stereotypes surrounding blacks, that white people (might) have. Such stereotypes include black people don’t tip, or black people are poor tippers. Another one is having at least one status quo black friend, to prove you aren’t racist. It highlights a white female dating a black male in order to piss their parents off.
Watch the teaser.
