[EXCLUSIVE] R.Kelly Owes Government $6.3 MILLION
taxes. Then months later he was hit with a 2nd lien for failure to pay taxes for 2011, owing the federal government an additional $1,379,695.11. The grand total for both liens totaled $6,227,767.82. Both liens are still active which means he hasn’t paid off the debt yet.
Then on September 9th, the Illinois Department of Revenue filed a NEW lien against Kelly accusing him of failing to pay taxes for the years 2009, 2011 & 2012. The total tax debt they claims he owes comes to $146,532.96.
The new lien brings Kelly’s total tax debt to $6,374,300.78.

Notice it doesn’t say 2013-2014?
and the total is 142k so that would mean he has since paid off most of the debt so why post $6 million? This blog is so dumb.
You only calculated for state… once you add the federal then it comes out to be 6mil…

It doesn’t add up to 6 million because we don’t know how much he as paid off since and like I’ve stated those tax liens were reported years ago, not recent. The only recent lien is the 142k one and he most likely has already paid that off.

@oh can you read at all? The article CLEARLY states the liens are old and still active. Active liens are unpaid liens! The article also states government then breaks out what he owes the state and federal! I’m sure you’re a fan and hate to see his career in the state it’s in. I agree…. It pains me that this man is a horrible low child rapist and coward….but it is what it is. I wish it ALL had never happened. Imiss being able to enjoy the music of the pied piper!

I’m more disturbed by people who barely scrap $30k a year trying to discuss his finances and more importantly this blog writer trying to defame him. The document only shows his the $146k lien and state income tax = IRS. They all link back to the IRS. There’s no way of seeing whether he paid off his liens or not. Instead of worrying about what a millionaire is doing with his money worry about yourself.
P.S. – I could careless that you can’t enjoy his music. He has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has an abundance of fans.

Oh ok, I know see your problem…..you don’t know there is a difference between a federal tax lien IRS and state tax lien. So you or someone as smart as you must be doing his taxs. There is a DIFFERENCE! A big one.
