[EXCLUSIVE] DMX Pays $250K to Save NY Home From Foreclosure
Rapper DMX (real name Earl Simmons) was extremely close to losing his NY home at a foreclosure auction, but he recently dropped over $250K to save the property — theJasmineBRAND.com has exclusively learned.
Last year, the 43-year-old artist was sued by Compass Bank in a New York Court. The lawsuit explained that the rapper and his wife Tashera took out a $500K mortgage back in 2004 but had since defaulted on the loan.
Compass Bank explained that DMX was 1403 days in default and back in May 2012 the bank demanded the full amount due on the loan — which was $258,927.87. They accused him of refusing to pay up — so they filed a lawsuit against him seeking to foreclose on the home.
