Sandra Bland Laid to Rest

Sandra Bland’s funeral took place Saturday morning July 25^th in Lisle, Illinois at Dupage African Methodist Episcopal Church. Most of the attendants wore blue shirts with #SandSpeaks emblazoned on the front.

Bland’s mother has been speaking very openly about the tragic death of her daughter. On the ruling of her death, Bland’s mother finds it very challenging to accept that she took her own life. During Saturday’s funeral service, Bland’s mother stated,

My baby is speaking. She’s still speaking and no, she didn’t kill herself.
