(EXCLUSIVE) Music Producer Scott Storch Refuses To Hand Over Bankruptcy Docs
He says he is a musician/producer who brings in $4K a month but he spends $1,200 on food and household supplies, $400 on childcare and education costs, $100 on clothing and dry cleaning, $200 on personal care products, $250 on medical bills, $400 on transportation and $800 on entertainment –leaving him with $650 after he pays all his expenses. Storch also stated he only made $10K in income last year.
The music producer hit financial troubles back in 2009 and filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy claiming he had assets in the 0-50K range but liabilities in the 50-100K range. The case was dismissed due to Storch not filing the required documents in the bankruptcy. Storch was worth an estimated $70 million dollars back in the early 2000’s following a string of hits he produced for numerous artists including Beyonce and Justin Timberlake.
On July 31st, the trustee overseeing Storch’s bankruptcy filed docs demanding the judge order the music producer to hand over his financial documents. He explains that since Storch filed his petition he has asked for financial documents including his tax returns, his day-to-day finances including his bank account information, information on why Storch said he had no household goods or furniture in his filing, answers on why he listed his clothing to be worth only $500, all wire transfers over $300 that he sent in the past 4 years, details and photographs of the watch he listed as part of his assets, all financial records for his various music companies and the documents for all the legal battles he listed in his petition.
The trustee says Storch is not handing over the required documents and making his job extremely difficult, along with violating the laws of the bankruptcy court. The trustee is demanding the judge order Storch to hand over all his financial records or risk having his case dismissed as a result of him not complying. The judge has yet to make a decision on the motion. Storch’s current bankruptcy is still pending and his debt has yet to be discharged.
