(EXCLUSIVE) Three 6 Mafia – Juicy J & DJ Paul Settle Lawsuit Accusing Them of Music Theft
Three 6 Mafia fired back at the allegations in the suit of song theft. Juicy J and DJ Paul explained that Boyland NEVER said in his lawsuit that he is the
valid owner of registrations from the United States Copyright Office for the Original Works.
They stated that no copyright registrations were attached to the Complaint either. Juicy J and DJ Paul also stated that,
the fact that Boyland’s Complaint does not demonstrate or allege that Boyland possesses valid copyright registrations in the Original Works renders his claims under the Copyright Act for the alleged infringement of the Original Works improper.
They demanded the lawsuit be dismissed entirely due to Boyland not having the copyrights to the songs he accuses them of illegally sampling, stating he doesn’t have a case due to him not owning the music. On November 5th, despite the group’s allegation that Boyland didn’t even own the copyrights to the songs he was suing them for alleged infringing on, docs were filed in the case stating that Three 6 Mafia and Boyland reached a settlement in the case which will dismiss all claims against one another. The case was closed the same day.
