Mary admitted that she is nervous about her upcoming gig on The Wiz,

I’m working really hard, I’m in rehearsal every day, I’m in character, I’m studying in rehearsals, in my room. This is live, when December 3rd comes, it’s live! We only get one chance.

While Mary admitted she did not have to audition she also never thought twice about taking on the role,

It’s The Wiz, this has been in our lives forever!

That is the brainchild of Jimmy Iovine. When he came to work with the idea like six months ago and told me he said, I want you, Taraji. We didn’t have a third person yet. We were all brainstorming about who else and Kerry was perfect, like this is too good to be true!

Mary also dished on her friendship with Taraji and where they like to go,

We don’t drive. We have cars and chauffeurs and things like that, We go to Nobu, our hot spot, our girl spot. We love Nobu, both of us.

She added that they love to shop.
