(EXCLUSIVE) Katy Perry & Juicy J Blast Christian Gospel Group’s Lawsuit Accusing Them of Stealing Music
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Katy Perry and Juicy J are blasting a Christian gospel group’s lawsuit accusing them of stealing their music for the hit song “Dark Horse”, saying they created the song all by themselves and are demanding the legal battle be thrown out ASAP.
Last year, Katy & Juicy J were sued by Christian gospel group who accused the duo of stealing music for the hit song. They also claimed their reputation was ruined in their community due to people believing they were associated with witchcraft and black magic.
The group accused Perry and Juicy J of stealing music from their song, “Joyful Noise” and using it in their hit without permission or paying them.
They accused Perry of damaging their reputation in the christian gospel world by
creating a false association between the music of Joyful Noise and the anti-Christian witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by Defendants’ Song, especially in the music video version.
They filed suit for an injunction against Perry from continuing to release or perform “Dark Horse” and all profits made from the illegal use of their track.
Then on December 15th, Juicy J and Katy fired back at the gospel group’s allegations they lifted their music. They both explain that the group doesn’t even own the copyright to the song they allegedly stole from them. Further, they state if their are any similarities those aren’t things that can be copyrighted since they are so common. Juicy J and Katy say nothing was stolen from the gospel group and are demanding the entire lawsuit be thrown out ASAP.
