Manny Pacquiao Sorry For Comparing Homosexuals to Animals [VIDEO]
Manny Pacquiao is getting one less paycheck. Nike has terminated its endorsement contract with the boxer after he made derogatory remarks about same-sex couples. Pacquiao’s remarks were made to a Filipino television station earlier this week. He stated:
Have you seen any animal having male-to-male or female-to-female relations? If you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships], then people are worse than animals.
Nike said in a statement,
We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent. Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community.
Pacquiao apologized on Twitter.
I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. God Bless! pic.twitter.com/bqjRcWqp8R
