Rep. John Lewis Stages Sit In, Takes Action on Guns #NoBillNoBreak [VIDEO]
Led by civil rights activist Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), Democratic members of Congress literally sat on the House floor demanding action on gun control. Lewis said during Wednesday’s morning session,
We have lost hundreds of thousands of innocent people to gun violence. Tiny little children. Babies, students, and teachers. Mothers and fathers. Sisters and brothers. Daughters and sons. Friends and neighbor. And what has this body done?

According to Think Progress,
on Monday, after Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) led a 15-hour filibuster, the Senate rejected four gun control measures that would have expanded background checks to all gun sales and made it more difficult for people on the terror watch list to purchase firearms. The Republican-led House is also unlikely to pass gun reform after the Orlando shooting. Ryan, the leader of the Republican majority in the House, responded by ordering the House break for lunch, shutting off the cameras and effectively making the session closed to the press.
