(EXCLUSIVE) NFL’er Terrance West Sued By Hotel Over Alleged Robberies
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West will definitely be thinking twice about visiting Miami again, with the NFL star already filing suit against a luxury hotel in which he blamed them for being robbed twice and now he has been slapped with a lawsuit by the hotel.
Here’s the latest: On June 26th, South Beach Group Hotels filed suit against their insurance company, James River Insurance, and Terrance in Miami court. The company explains they reached out to their insurance company following Terrance filing the suit against them, only to be denied by their insurance due to their policy allegedly not covering claims such as the NFL stars including stolen personal property.
James River Insurance told the company to take a hike and they won’t be paying a dime if Terrance is awarded damages. Therefore, they are now suing the insurance co. demanding the court order them to pay up if they are found liable for the 2 alleged robberies that took place at their hotel along with extra damages.
Here’s the backstory: Earlier this year, Terrance filed suit against South Beach Group Hotels and Carlos Fernando Victoria. The running back explained that he was staying at a luxury Metropole South Beach hotel back in February, when his hotel room was robbed twice in the same day.
He says on Feb. 27th, 2 women approached the NFL star and eventually agreed to meet up later that day. However, one of the women went to the front desk and asked for a key to his suite – without his approval – and the attendant gave the woman a key.
The lawsuit claimed that the hotel had a bellman escort the women to the suite – where they stole 2 Rolex watches that belonged to Terrance and his friend — once Terrance realized he went to the front desk and filed a police report.
Then an hour later, West claimed that someone knocked on his hotel door and he opened it thinking it was going to be the cops.
After he opened the door, he noticed it was an unknown man – who appeared to be holding a gun – and then the man forced his way into Terrance’s room and threatened his life by demanding cash and valuable property. The man allegedly made off with $5k in cash, Louboutin shoes and many other expensive items.
Terrance filed suit demanding the hotel be responsible for his losses and sought more than $50k for his ordeal.
Then recently, the hotel owners headed to court and blasted the NFL star’s lawsuit demanding they pay up for his stolen items.
The company explains it was not their responsibility to make sure he didn’t robbed while staying in their hotel.
They blame Terrance for opening his hotel room door and essentially inviting the man – who ended up stealing thousands from the NFL star – and it’s entirely his fault for giving the robber access to his room by letting him in.
South Beach Group Hotels demanded the entire lawsuit be thrown out and Terrance be awarded nothing from his complaint.
