Kelly Price Calls Out Church Bigotry, After Receiving Backlash For Black Expo Performance
A few saints and sinners are LIVID with Kelly Price, after her recent performance. The soulful singer performed on Sunday at the Indiana Black Expo and was criticized for singing secular music during the gospel segment of the expo. After her performance, Kelly hopped on social media, criticizing the emcee for making negative remarks about her song selection. In a series of social media posts, Kelly explained that she was not told to sing a gospel song and had no idea that she was performing during that particular segment.
See the clip below.
After being dragged on social media, she posted a few more clips explaining her side of the story and calling out non God like Christians who inappropriately use religion to spew negativity.
Church bigotry must die so the love of Christ can shine! @iamgabbyj

I am sorry for what happened to Kelly it seemed to have been a misunderstanding that rubbed some people the wrong way. But I disagree with her comment about why people don’t come to church. People don’t come to church because they don’t want to serve God the way the bible instructs us to, they do not want to change or give up their sin and worldly lifestyle especially people in entertainment. You can not serve God and mammon….singing gospel one minute then secular music the next. Most of these people attend all kinds of parties drinking, sleeping around and everything else under the sun and then say I serve God I grew up in the church…stop straddling the fence and being double minded and getting upset when church folk don’t their double life.
speak for yourself. I dont go to church for the exact reason kelly price spoke of. bigots, judgmental church folks, in the club saturday night and shouting/rolling on the floor on sunday morning. just because you go to church doesnt mean you’re saved or living life the way God intended. Your comment sounds ignorant. I grew up in church from birth-18 and I have no desire to go. And I have yet to meet a church going person who makes me feel like I should go, based on the life they’re leading. GOing to church doesnt automatically make you a child of God; we all are his children.
Kelly is being dramatic. So what if they thought you were apart of the gospel part. She knew what she was doing. The people that hired you did.Why is she given this Mistress of ceremony anytime? They r always known to mess things up.Im sorry but this is why I still didn’t care for her because of the way she acted on Hollywood Divas. She did the same thing on there blowing things out of per portion.Shes a drama queen
O-oooo
Ok, so she wasn’t a part of the Gospel portion? Alright, well her comments were still rude and out of line. How dare she?! Ugh.
Kelly Price was correct. Some church folks can be really mean, spew all kinds of hate, judge folks and in the same breath say their saved. That’s what Kelly is saying…Those people are why some people do not want to go to church…there are evil people inside the church, falsely claiming to be chrisitians but are no different from the average sinner. They should apologize to her for being rude and out of line, not the other way around and if you cannot see that then you are apart of the problem!
