(EXCLUSIVE) Fat Joe Owes Uncle Sam Even MORE Money!
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Fat Joe has been hit with more financial troubles, with the Federal Government accusing the rapper of screwing them out of nearly $180k in back taxes — only a couple years after he served prison time for tax evasion in 2013.
According to official records filed in Miami earlier this year, Uncle Sam filed a Federal Tax Lien against Fat Joe – real name Joseph Cartagena – over unpaid taxes for the year 2007.
The court document states Fat Joe refuses to pay up on $176,170.93 owed to them. Also, they explain if he fails to cough up the money soon, they will begin the process of seizing his assets and property to collect on their money.
The lien comes shortly after news broke that Joe was slapped with a separate Federal Tax Lien earlier this year. That lien accuses the rapper of owing them a total of $1,186,001 in back taxes for the years 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014.
Fat Joe recently settled the legal battle with Big Pun’s widow over allegations he screwed the late rapper’s estate out of $2 million owed to them for royalties. He also served 4 months in Federal Prison over tax evasion charges back in 2013. The rapper was accused of stiffing the IRS to the tune of $1 million dollars for the years 2007 & 2008. He eventually pled guilty and served his prison sentence without issues.
