Ed Hartwell Accused of Cheating On Keshia Knight-Pulliam, Source Reveals Why Ed Wants A Paternity Test

Fans of Keshia Knight-Pulliam were shocked when reports hit that her and her husband were ending their marriage, after almost 8 months. As previously reported, on Monday former NFL linebacker Ed Hartwell filed divorce papers in a Georgia courthouse. The decision to split comes less than eight months after he and wife Keshia Knight Pulliam’s surprise New Year’s Eve wedding.

Ed, who was previously married to reality star Lisa Wu, filed the divorce complaint citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, Keshia was not yet aware that he filed for divorce.

So what’s the latest? A source close to Ed tells PEOPLE that he “doesn’t have any evidence of her cheating” but wants a paternity test because he is concerned about the timing of the pregnancy.

It’s just that he had told her he wanted to wait before having a baby and things got really bad between them and then she pops up pregnant. He even told her he didn’t want to release the bump picture so soon, but she did it anyway.

The source also says that Ed, who has a son from a previous relationship,

just wants to make sure that just because they were married he still covers his bases and gets everything checked out. The pregnancy came during a very dark spot in their relationship.

Meanwhile, sources tell TheYBF, that Keshia suspected Ed of cheating. The site reports:

While Keshia was blindsided by his divorce filing, apparently she was well aware of the issues the two have been having. According to one source, Ed was engaged to a woman named Tonya Carroll before his quick engagement to Keshia.  He was allegedly still seeing her throughout the marriage.  Our trusted source says Keshia, who is four months pregnant, believes he cheated. While Ed was out, Keshia was often home parenting his son he has with his first wife, Lisa Wu Hartwell, named EJ.

Lisa was often in L.A. filming “Hollywood Divas” and other projects. We’re told Keshia was great about her role as stepmom, and played it without being high maintenance.  Interestingly, Ed has made it known he wants a paternity test for he baby Keshia is carrying. Our source tells us, “If any paternity test needs to be taken it would need to be with a side chick and not Keshia.”

Keshia has yet to comment.
