Essence Atkins Reveals Divorce [VIDEO]

Essence Atkins recently shared that she and her husband, Jaime Mendez, are divorcing. The actress revealed the news while co-hosting on Hollywood Today Live, explaining that while the two still love each other, they’ve decided to part ways. Essence also joked that she’s not sure if she’s ready to jump into the dating pool. See the clip.

In September 2009, Atkins married Puerto Rican collegiate football free safety Jaime Mendez. They met Valentine’s Day 2008 through the online dating service Match.com. Essence gave birth to their son in December 2011.
