Doug E. Fresh Is Suing “Empire”
Empire has been hit with yet another lawsuit. Doug E. Fresh has reportedly teamed up with a publishing company to sue the hit Fox series, Empire. Reportedly, during season two a Doug E. Fresh song was sample on a track produced by Timbaland.
Fresh’s 1993 hit song “I-Ight” featuring Lil Vicious was allegedly sampled for a track titled “No Doubt About It” which was performed by Pitbull and Jussie Smollett. The track also appeared on the album Empire: Season 2 Volume 1. Fresh, Rasheed Rahan Wonder of Wonderboy Entertainment and songwriter Unique Mecca Hall are also named as plaintiffs.
Doug E. Fresh, is a Barbadian born American rapper, record producer, and beatboxer, also known as the Human Beat Box. The pioneer of 20th-century American beatboxing, Fresh is able to accurately imitate drum machines and various special effects using only his mouth, lips, gums, throat, tongue and a microphone.
