BET Will Not Renew Kelly Rowland’s Show “Chasing Destiny”
Kelly Rowland’s “Chasing Destiny” Not Renewed
Well, there’s good news and bad news. The bad news is “Chasing Destiny” will NOT return for a second season. The BET docu-series, Chasing Destiny, was produced by singer Kelly Rowland. The premise of the show was to form her a girl group. 5 women were chosen. Unfortunately, the network will not give the series a second season.
However, the group is STILL together. According to their creative director, Frank Gatson, the girls need a hit song. There three singles, Lance, All Of Us and Alright didn’t do much in terms of sells. They’re currently touring with R.Kelly. Frank explains:
We must find a hit song. Send one if you have it. A lot of people don’t know who June’s Diary Is.

We can petition for June’s Diary to come back on!
The most frustrating thing about this is that two of those songs weren’t even official singles. We haven’t even heard a clean studio version of “Wrap Around” – just cell phone recordings from concerts. And “Alright” was never an official single either – it’s just on soundcloud.
They have only had 2 singles for purchase and one video (and frankly, All of Us should have gotten a video before LANCE – it’s a cute song that they all sang on).
It’s frustrating that they’ve lost all the momentum they had. And I find it impossible that out of 100 songs, there are no hits.
Frank is crazy…he talking like Kanye ..you can’t get a hit if fans can’t purchase a song or no promotion…
Ok, just a lil English lesson here, since you’re writing a blog: “There three singles”, is correct as their, it’s possessive. Then, “didn’t do much in terms of sells” is correct as their sales. Sell is a verb. Thanks for tea though.
A lot of celebrities/artists need to figure out that just because they are who they are, we don’t necessarily want to wear their clothes, eat at their restaurants or listen to their one-off, one hit wonders. Everything they do is not magic because their names are on it. Go Figure! Everybody can’t be an NBA player, or POTUS- stay in your lane and appreciate the good things in life. Celebrities don’t want you to know they’re freaks of nature. Why would we want to be YOU when most of you die broke, alone and or addicted. Doesn’t sound like something I’d like to emulate.
