Suspect Arrested In Killing of Toya Wright’s Brothers
Last week, 31-year-old Antoine Edwards was reportedly arrested and booked with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of the Toya Wright’s two brothers Joshu (31) and Ryan “Rudy” Johnson (24).
As previously reported, the brothers were found shot to death inside a vehicle at the corner of Pauger and North Miro streets just after midnight July 31, 2016. Police said each suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, inside a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox parked with its engine running in the 2800 block of Pauger Street.
The arrest warrant affidavit stated that multiple tipsters told investigators a man known as “Toine” or “Tweezy” was responsible for the killings. Reportedly, the suspect, in at least one instance, admitted the shooting to others.
Toya is a New Orleans native and is the ex-wife of rapper Lil Wayne, whom she shares a child with. Edwards’ bond was set at $500,000.
