Issa Rae To Co-Star In ‘Empress of Serenity’
Issa Rae will co-star opposite Bill Hader in Empress of Serenity, according to a report. Check out the description below:
Empress of Serenity centers on a man (Hader) whose elaborate plan to win back his ex-wife is upended when he is guilted into a monthlong cruise with his widowed father. Rae will play Michelle, a reclusive kindred spirit in the cabin next door who becomes both aid and obstacle to Sheldon’s plan.
Production is planned for August. Issa is best known as the creator of the YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl. Since the premiere of Awkward Black Girl, Rae has developed her own YouTube platform where she features various content created by people of color. Rae’s shows have garnered over 20 million views and over 200,000 subscribers on YouTube.
She is also the creator, co-writer and star of the HBO series Insecure, which is partially based on Awkward Black Girl.
