Jay Z’s Roc Nation Signs CNN’s Van Jones
Jay Z’s Roc Nation has signed Van Jones. Roc Nation will work with the CNN commentator, bestselling author and activist on all aspects of his career. According to the company’s release, Roc Nation will work to amplify the already-excellent advocacy that Van does to improve education, the environment and social justice. This summer and fall, a tour helmed by Van will support initiatives and select local programs. All ticket sales of the soon-to-be announced events will go directly to the designated organizations.
On the partnership, Jones commented:
Roc Nation stands for excellence, innovation and impact, and I am proud to join the family. To make positive change in today’s world, we must close the gaps that exist between artists and activists … cultural leaders and political leaders … taste-makers and changemakers. This partnership opens up the opportunity to do that on a global scale. It’s a bold, unprecedented move. And I’m both humbled and excited by the possibilities.
On Van joining Roc Nation, Shawn Carter stated,
Van’s immense capacity for empathy builds bridges. He inspires dialogue and only through conversation and active listening, can true change occur. Roc Nation is honored to support and amplify every initiative.
