Venus Williams Cries When Asked About Accident
Venus Williams literally broke down into tears during Monday, July 3, during a press conference, when she was asked about a car crash that she was involved in.
The press conference took place after the tennis star beat Elise Mertens in Wimbledon’s first round. However, she was asked about the car accident, that resulted in one of the motorists later dying.
Becoming emotional, Venus responded:
Completely devastating, speechless. I am just…
The moderator interjected, telling the press:
She can’t say anything more about this, so I would ask you to respect her wishes, please.

As previously reported, Jerome Barson was taken to the hospital with head trauma after his and Williams’ vehicles collided last month in Florida. His wife, Linda Barson, was also hospitalized and suffered broken bones. He passed away 14 days later. He was 78.
