Issa Rae’s Carpet Response, Donald Glover Makes Emmy History + Winner List

Congratulations to Donald Glover! The 33-year-old multi-talented entertainer became the first African American to win an Emmy for outstanding directing in comedy. He snagged the award for his hit FX series, Atlanta. Glover is also the first director to win for a show he acted in since Alan Alda won for “M*A*S*H” in 1977.

Meanwhile, an epic response of Issa Rae answering a question on the Emmys red carpet has gone viral. The creator and star of HBO’s Insecure,”was asked who she was rooting for to win at this year’s Emmy Awards, despite her own show’s snub. She responded,

I’m rooting for everybody black. I am!
