EXCLUSIVE: Matt Barnes Ex Wife Gloria Govan – I Did NOT Forge Your Name To Buy My Parents Home!

theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, Matt Barnes’ ex wife, Gloria Govan denies accusations that she forged the former NBA star’s signature to buy her parents home and to also lease a night club in Oakland. In February, Barnes and Govan revealed on social media that they had been in a legal battle over the matter. See the exchange below.

The pair, who share twin sons, are currently battling it out in court. Recently, Barnes filed court docs claiming that he learned about Govan’s using his signature without his permission, last year when he was sued over the home.

He explains that his ex provided bank statements during the divorce which show large amounts of funds deposited into her accounts on various dates. He believes the funds were either secretly diverted from him or earnings during their marriage that she never disclosed to him. He believes that since she omitted the funds, he should be entitled to half of the assets. The documents state,

On several occasions in the marriage, I found that respondent had diverted funds from me, without my knowledge or consent, such as when I was asleep in preparation for a basketball game, and woke up to find that she emailed my financial advisor at the time, from my email account, instructing him to transfer $50,000.

Govan has responded alleging that Barnes was fully aware of the home for her parents and the Oakland nightclub. She also points out that Barnes never listed his NBA money.

In terms of the purchase for her parents home, she says that her father borrowed $100k from Barnes, but later reimbursed him. She also provides proof for the reimbursement. Govan also says that Barnes was aware of the lease for the club in Oakland, pointing out that the pair produced a comedy show together at the same venue.

A hearing has been set for this month.
