Social media pays. Just ask Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who is securing the bag, requesting that studios pay extra if they want access to his massive following on social media. According to reports, the actor received $1 million to promote his upcoming film, “Red Notice”.
The Rock is said to have been paid a $21 million base pay for the film after almost every major studio bid on rights to the action comedy “Red Notice”. The film ultimately went to Universal and Legendary and The Rock scored his career-best paycheck. As part of the deal, he reportedly asked for $1 million as part of the package to share promotional content on his social media platforms, bringing his total up to $22 million.
Red Notice will begin production in 2019, with a 2020 release date.
