Condolences: Designer Kate Spade Found Dead Of Apparent Suicide

Designer Kate Spade was found dead in her Manhattan apartment following an apparent suicide.

Spade, 55, was found by her housekeeper at her home at 850 Park Avenue. According to law enforcement sources she had hanged herself. She left a note, sources said. No additional details have been released.

Kate was was the namesake and former co-owner of the designer brand, Kate Spade New York. In 2006, she sold the last of her shares in that company. In 2016, she and her partners officially launched a new fashion brand called Frances Valentine.
