Director Anthony Hemingway & Actor Steven Norfleet Are Engaged!

Love is a great thing. It can be hard to find, but when two people are blessed with it and decide to unite as one, we should always congratulate them and celebrate their union. Over the weekend, director Anthony Hemingway and actor Steven Norfleet announced their engagement. The happy couple have been dating for over four years. The two celebrated the occasion with family and close friends as they sailed the seas on a vacation.

Hemingway has done extensive television directing with numerous episodes of CSI New York, True Blood, Shameless and The Wire under his belt. The award-winning director has also scored big with shows like Underground, American Crime Story, Unsolved: the Murders of Tupac and the Notorious BIG.

Norfleet who’s appeared on Chicago PD and Being Mary Jane, was celebrating his birthday when his boyfriend Anthony, popped the question. The happy couple took to social media to show the world their big announcement. On a photo of themselves on the boat smiling ear to ear, Steven said,

My Lord and Savior, when I woke up yesterday asking for a great birthday, you exceeded that and gave me the best day of my life. I prayed to you asking to show yourself strong and you embraced me with loving friends with huge hearts to laugh and love with. But I write this post to praise you abundantly for the exceptional human being I can now call my fiancé @shinybootz . His presence drives me to praise you and thank you and reminds me how blessed I am. My God I love you so much and I promise to always love him.

Anthony was beyond happy posting to Instagram,

Thank you to all our nearest & dearest for being here to celebrate the birth of my best friend. Even those who wanted to be here but couldn’t make it. Steven Gregory Norfleet…. Happy Birthday babe. I’m glad you’re finally growing up. Lol. I’m incredibly proud of you, of who you are, what you stand for, what you believe & mostly for being a child of God. In our 4 years together, I’ve enjoyed watching you evolve as a human, as a man & as a fine, sexy actor.”

The director shared a Nikki Giovanni piece called “A POEM OF FRIENDSHIP” and capped off the post saying,

Thank you for being in my life & helping me be a better man, a better friend & a better lover. I’m not perfect but I know I worth it! As the Most High & all of our friends bear witness, one of the best feelings is Love. Steven Gregory Norfleet…HE SAID YES!!!

In another post, Hemingway said,

No word yet on a wedding date but congratulations to the happy couple.
