Denzel Washington Reveals The Key To His Happy, 35 Year Marriage: I Do What I’m Told, I Keep My Mouth Shut

Denzel Washington Knows The Key To A Happy Marriage Is Keeping His Mouth Shut
While on the red carpet promoting Equalizer 2, Denzel Washington, who celebrated his 35 year anniversary with Pauletta Washington last month, revealed the secret to a long and healthy marriage. Denzel shared that the key to their longevity is is quite simple, listening to his wife. He says:
I do what I’m told. I keep my mouth shut.
The film vet also went on to discuss some of the things he loves about his wife, which he had a hard time narrowing down.
There’s too many things! What pops into my head: security, food, a beautiful home. The difference between a house and a home, it’s a big difference.
He continued:
You can buy a house, but that doesn’t make it a home – and not to say a man can’t make a home a home, but my wife has made our house a home, and raised these beautiful kids [John David,33, Katia, 30, twins Olivia and Malcolm, 27] and protected them and sacrificed for them, she did the heavy-lifting.
It looks like the real key to a long marriage is knowing the woman’s value to the family. Way to go, Pauletta!
