Nicki Minaj Drops Colorful New “Barbie Dreams” Video
Imagine Nicki Minaj, colorful wigs and muppets, that’s what you can come to expect from her creative new music video for “Barbie Dreams.” Minaj enlisted veteran Hype Williams to direct the video. Hype is most known for his work TLC’s “No Scrubs,” Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” and the 1998 feature film, Belly. Nicki’s new glam squad, Aaliyah Jay (MUA) and Arrogant Tae (hair) handled the looks for the new visual. Nicki took to Twitter to answer fan questions about the video and when asked if she was intentionally recreating and improving her old iconic looks, she said:
Great question. I’d say yes, absolutely. I missed my colorful era. I love doing my old stuff & improving it @ the same. Colors have always made me happy & my fans get to reminisce about some good ol times.
