Kim Kardashian Says Alice Marie Johnson Would Still Be In Jail If It Wasn’t For Kanye Supporting Trump
Kim Kardashian West tried her hand at criminal justice reform on her own terms throughout 2018. The mother of three teamed up with Donald Trump in June to petition for Alice Marie Johnson to be released from prison, who was serving a life sentence. During her appearance on the “Alec Baldwin Show” on Sunday, the beauty mogul says if it wasn’t for her husband Kanye West supporting Trump, Johnson would probably still be in jail, and confirming Johnson was the one to say this.
“’I do believe she would still be in prison. Alice and I have spoken about this a few times. Alice always says if it wasn’t for Kanye speaking up in support of Trump, then she would still be in jail. She says that all the time.
How the process came about she explains,
I called Ivanka [Trump] first, I felt really passionate about Alice and that it was so unfair and I felt and was hoping Ivanka would hear me out and understand me. She recommended I speak to her husband and he heard me out. If I knew that I had the power to change her life then I was going to try.
She also shares what plans she has moving forward.
The bigger goal is to get these bills passed that really change the laws to make the distinction between crack and cocaine completely separate and just getting people out. Sentencing reform, bail reform, there’s so much.

Most recently, Kardashian has requested for death row inmate, Kevin Cooper to be released from prison.
