Mona Scott Young Kicks Off The 2018 Turkey Challenge To Feed Families For Thanksgiving
Mona Scott-Young is doing her part to give back to the community. She’s just kicked off her 2018 Turkey Challenge with the goal to sponsor Thanksgiving meals for as many hungry families as possible.
Mona is a board member at the GrassROOTS Community Foundation, which over the last eight years, has been providing necessary resources for Newark, the West Ward neighborhood and the over 1,000 families living at Georgia King Village, a housing development in Newark. For the holidays this year, they’re expanding their services to Harlem and the Atlanta area with two turkey giveaways.
With the 2018 Turkey Challenge, Mona and other celebrities compete to sell as many turkeys as they can. $25 buys a family a holiday meal consisting of a 20lb turkey and 5lbs of organic fruits and vegetables. Mona took to Instagram to announce the contest:
#HappyHumpDay BUT time to get over the hump and get back on my grind! We got families to feed people! Thanks so much to everyone who has already generously donated. ???? Need everyone else to please go to the link in bio and help me #MakeItHappen! $25 is all it takes to provide a meal for a deserving family this Thanksgiving.
Mona Scott-Young is competing against Love & Hip Hop’s Yandy Smith, but Yandy has some tough competition. Mona has won the challenge every year!
