Piers Morgan Sparks Twitter Beef Among Ariana Grande & Her Mom For Attempting To Call Out Pop Singers Who Exploit Sexuality For Record Sales

Ariana Grande and her mother Joan are teaming up against British television host Piers Morgan after he attempted to shade Ariana, Ellen DeGeneres, and English pop girl group Little Mix. Morgan tweeted his dislike for Little Mix’s latest promotional shot for an upcoming single. The group posed naked with obscenities plastered across each of the four member group’s body, and Morgan called the women out for stealing their idea from country female group Dixie Chicks.

In a tweet Morgan shared,

Ariana’s mother chimed in to dismantle Morgan’s attacks,

Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan ? Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it! You came for @TheEllenShow yesterday which was disgraceful, she is an angel. @LittleMix today, did you ever hear of paying homage? And..well never mind

Morgan fired back at Joan, whilst shading her daughter, “thank u, next” singer Ariana,

Hi Joan, my mother taught me to speak my mind & never be afraid to express honestly held opinion. Ellen’s a hypocrite – and as for Little Mix, I’d just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does…! The only ‘trash talk’ came from Little Mix who called me a ‘tw*t’ on the radio. I suggest you call THEIR mothers to tell them to wash their mouths out with soap.

Consequently, Morgan’s shade launched him into a Twitter warfare with Ariana. The “breathin'” songstress jumped in, coming to bat for Little Mix, Ellen, and herself.

Ellen is an incredible & kind human being.. I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. & we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next.

also @piersmorgan, i look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it.

Grande also called out Morgan for being a hypocrite, after he posed shirtless for a fragrance campaign,

In Morgan’s defense, he claims he initially pointed out Little Mix and Grande due to them having using sex to acheive record sales while having a core young female audience. He countered,

Why’s it ‘misogynistic’ to suggest female pop stars with millions of young fans shouldn’t use nudity to sell records? Most women I’ve spoken to you about this agree with me – especially mothers of young girls. When everyone finally stops screaming at me about this @LittleMix @ArianaGrande furore, they will suddenly realise I’m right. There’s no need for young female pop stars, with millions of young female fans, to use nudity to sell records. It’s tacky & sends the wrong message.
