Ashanti stays booked and blesses us with her throwback hits on the road. Now, the singer is coming out with new music fans can bop to.
Ashanti said if all goes well, she’ll release her new music by the end of the year, according to reports.
“I’m working with some amazing producers, really cool ideas, and collabs! I’m excited about the next few moves, the year ahead, and releasing new music. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Familiar faces and names like Tory Lanez, Jeremih and Swae Lee are slated to be on the album. She’s also in talks of collaborations with Davido, J-Roc, J Balvin, and J. White Did It, who has worked with the likes of Cardi B and Iggy Azalea.

This will be Ashanti’s first album in five years. Her most recent, Braveheart, was released in 2014. She said her new release is all about it being the right time.
“With me, it’s timing. There are a lot of things going on and it’s important to try and line everything up as much as you can, but it’s also important to not sit and wait on things. Sometimes I have a bad habit of waiting for things to line up perfectly because sometimes that doesn’t happen and then you miss out. But I’d love to have some new stuff out this summer!”

She continued and said she’s still working on the direction she wants to go this time around.
“I can’t tell you yet. It has a concept… it really tells a story [but] you really have to get it. I don’t even want to put a little bit out there because people are going to be like, ‘what’ I’d rather give you the hwole, full-course meal instead of jut the appetizer, because if you don’t taste it right, it might not go down right!”
