“Star” Canceled After 3 Seasons
“Star” is coming to an end after three seasons. Fox pulled the plug on the Empire spin-off which starred Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady and Ryan Destiny.
The musical drama live-action series was created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy and revolved around three talented young singers who navigate the music business on their road to success.
The series, which was set in Atlanta, consisted of original music, along with musical fantasy sequences, as dreams of the future. Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown co-star.
It’s widely speculated that the series was axed due to poor ratings. An official network statement has not yet been released.
