Kanye West: I Have Never Voted In My Life
Rapper/creative Kanye West is baring it all as he sits down with the iconic late night host, David Letterman, for the second season of his Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.”
Covering everything from family, mental health, fashion, and music – David Letterman even got Kanye to compliment award-winning rapper, Drake, fresh off of their nearly year-old beef while discussing the intricacies of lyrics.
“An artist which I will not mention, because I’m not allowed to mention him or any of his family members…we had a little beef last year. He has this line that I love that says, ‘I told my story and made history’—like made his story and made history. That’s what we do, we tell our story and then people relate to that story.”
Letterman also discusses Kanye’s bipolar disorder.
“When you’re bipolar, you have the potential to ramp up and it can take you to a point where you start acting erratic, as TMZ would put it…if you guys want these crazy ideas and these crazy stages and this crazy music and this crazy way of thinking, there’s a chance if might come from a crazy person.”
His wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, even makes an appearance as she looks on in the audience. She posted a clip of Kanye and David Letterman’s interview talking about how his late mother, Donda West, would have loved being a grandmother.
“This would’ve been the funnest time of her life to have those kids running around that house and being able to, like, go and buy them toys.”
When asked his thoughts on the #MeToo movement, he compared it to the stigma of his support of Donald Trump and the MAGA hat:
“This is like my thing with Trump — we don’t have to feel the same way, but we have the right to feel what we feel…it’s not about politics.”
Kanye also shockingly revealed he didn’t vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 election. In fact, he’s never voted at all! David Letterman had a response to that:
“David Letterman: Did you vote for Trump?
Kanye West: I’ve never voted in my life.
“David: Then you don’t have a say in this.”
Season two of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” including Kanye West’s interview, premieres on Netflix on May 31st.
