Jay-Z’s ‘Shawn Carter Foundation’ Raises $6 Million For Future Scholars

Say what you want about Jay-Z’s recent moves, the rapper and activist is still making a difference.

The annual gala for his Shawn Carter Foundation brought in $6 million that will help pay for post-secondary school opportunities for potential scholars.

The event included a blackjack tournament that cost $100,000 to enter. The winner won half a million dollars while the rest of it was for the charity.

Beyonce, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Yo Gotti, Fat Joe, Tyler Perry, Swizz Beatz, Fabolous, Emily B and more were spotted at the invitation-only event.

The Shawn Carter Foundation has been going strong since Jay-Z’s mom, Gloria Carter, launched it in 2003 in an effort to offer low-income students scholarships and other opportunities like study abroad.

Congrats to the Shawn Carter Foundation for raising $6 million!
