Bill Cosby’s Team Calls Judge Corrupt After He Loses Appeal To Overturn Sexual Assault Conviction: It’s Appalling!
Bill Cosby’s request to get his sexual assault conviction reversed was denied, new reports reveal.
In his appeal, the legal team for the disgraced actor argued that a trial judge should not have let five women take the stand at Bill Cosby’s trial last year, as the judge had already allowed one woman to testify for the initial 2017 trial.
Still, a Pennsylvania superior court pointed out that the state will allow testimony if it displays that Bill Cosby showed a “signature” habit of sexually assaulting and drugging women.
In Cosby’s case, that “signature” pattern was an alleged
“unique sexual assault playbook.”
Legal documents claim that Cosby had a pattern of wooing younger women, using his position in Hollywood to get them to trust him, and then drug them before sexually assaulting them.
It might not be over for Cosby though. He can still appeal again, and take his case to the Pennsylvania supreme court.
For now, Cosby is still serving his three to 10-year sentence for an assault against Andrea Constand in 2004.
Cosby’s team responded stating:
This news of the Superior Court denying Mr. Cosby’s appeal is appalling and disappointing, but it shows the level of corruption that resides in the Judicial System of Pennsylvania. These panel of judges never took the time to review the clear facts of Mr. Cosby’s appeal. Mr. Cosby’s appeal outlined the bias of Judge Steve T. O’Neill; showed that the jurists were tainted by juror #11 who stated, “Mr. Cosby is guilty, let’s not waste a lot of time and find him guilty;” showed that the 404(b) witnesses should have never being allowed to offer testimony in Mr. Cosby’s trial because they had “no” similar interests with Andrea Constand; and most importantly, Mr. Cosby’s deposition should have never been considered at the trial. It’s obvious that these judges’ minds were made up because they didn’t take the time to dissect Mr. Cosby’s appeal. We’re not shocked because it shows the world that this isn’t about justice, but this is a political scheme to destroy Mr. Cosby, however they will not stop us and we will prevail in the State Supreme Court. Mr. Cosby remains hopeful and he stands behind his innocence.
Meanwhile, just last month Cosby released a statement from prison, stating that when his parole hearing arrives, he won’t show any remorse.
He told Black Press USA,
“I have eight years and nine months left. When I come up for parole, they’re not going to hear me say that I have remorse. I was there. I don’t care what group of people come along and talk about this when they weren’t there. They don’t know.”
He also spoke on the trial and added,
“It’s all a set up. That whole jury thing. They were imposters. Look at the woman who blew the whistle,”
he said, referencing a juror who allegedly overheard a seated juror proclaim before the trial that,
“he’s guilty, we can all go home now.”
“Then she went in and came out smiling, it’s something attorneys will tell you is called a payoff. I know what they’ve done to my people. But my people are going to view me and say, ‘that boy looks good. That boy is strong.’ I have too many heroes that I’ve sat with. Too many heroes whom I listened to like John Henrik Clarke, Kenneth Clark, and Dorothy Height. Those people are very strong, and they saw the rejection of their people. This is political. I can see the whole thing.”
Interestingly enough, he said,
“I am a privileged man in prison.”
