Pop Smoke Laid To Rest In Brooklyn, Funeral Procession Flooding With Family & Friends

The family, friends and loved ones of slain rapper Pop Smoke said their goodbyes today (March 5).

The memorial procession took place in Brooklyn. The rapper’s casket was driven by a horse and carriage. His name could be seen on the black casket, that was surrounded by a white case. A number of people lined the barricaded streets to say their final goodbyes.

As previously reported, Pop Smoke was fatally shot in a Beverly Hills home he was renting last month.

The suspects are still at large. It was first reported that he was the victim of a robbery, but police say the tragedy might have been gang-related.

Rapper 50 Cent vowed earlier this week to finish Pop Smoke’s album.

Pop Smoke’s family also released their first statement Friday (Feb. 28).

“The family of Bashar ‘Pop Smoke’ Jackson would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for your support. Every prayer, call, and act of kindness is deeply appreciated as we mourn the loss of our son, brother and friend. Brooklyn knew him as Bashar. He was educated and nurtured in Brooklyn and his rise to fame all developed from the place he proudly represented.

Within the last year, his extraordinary giftedness was revealed to the world, introducing Pop Smoke. Unfortunately, there are no public details available regarding the murder of our loved one. We ask for respect and responsible reporting during this critical time. Inaccurate reports only add unnecessary pain to a grieving family.”

Our prayers are with Pop Smoke’s loved ones.
