Monique Samuels Almost Left ‘The Real Housewives Of Potomac’ After Fight W/ Candiace Dillard + Candiace Hints At Quitting Show If Monique Doesn’t

Monique Samuels’ fight with her “The Real Housewives of Potomac” co-star Candiace Dillard has easily been the most talked about moment of season five; and it hasn’t even aired yet. Still, Monique Samuels revealed it almost made her walk away from the show.

Monique Samuels, who joined the show in its sophomore season, told Entertainment Tonight she almost left the show in the middle of the current season. She first spoke on her friend turned foe, Candiace Dillard, and said of their fight:

“I can tease it this way: Watch every past season of Candiace, and then watch all of the tweets and the vulgar tweets she’s ever put out, and then you can draw your own conclusion as to why that happened. I’m not falling for the BS. She is showing you who she is, every day, one tweet at a time…Candiace is exposing who she is as a liar and a manipulator every day. So all people gotta do is, not only watch the show, but watch her social media, and they will be able to put everything together for themselves and they will be able to see who’s really the liar.”

A few of those tweets, dated back to 2010, had Candiace Dillard apologizing to the LGBT community earlier this week.

She added,

“I took this very seriously. I didn’t want a pity party. I didn’t need any of that. I wanted to figure out what triggered me, why it triggered me and what can I do to make sure this never happens again. So, that is what my goal was.”

It’s still not clear what happened between the ladies, but reports have suggested that Candiace Dillard threw a drink at Monique, and Monique grabbed her and pulled her hair.

Monique added that the incident made her seriously consider walking away from the Bravo reality show.

“That thought actually came about, and it went even further than being a thought, I’ll just put it like that. But I ultimately decided that, as long as I could feel comfortable continuing my filming and show my journey, as long as that was in a comfortable environment for myself, then that’s what I wanted to do and that’s what I decided to do. And now that I know what I know now, I’m very grateful that I didn’t walk away and that I stuck it out.”

While Monique has decided to stay, Candiace Dillard said she refuses to film another season with her, and would be willing to quit the show if Monique doesn’t. She said:

““I honestly believe that it was the loss of control by Monique that really gave the show more headlines. People were intrigued by someone who appeared to be so — contained, put together, poised — how could it get to the point where Candiace is pressing charges?…I am not taping another season with her. I will not be doing that. Everyone knows that. That has been made clear. I will never film another season of any show with someone who can do what she did, and then conduct themselves in the aftermath of what she did the way that she did.”
