Kanye West Gifts Wife Kim Kardashian-West With A Hologram Of Her Father For Her 40th Birthday

Rapper, fashion designer, and presidential hopeful Kanye West‘s 40th birthday gift to his wife Kim Kardashian-West was a very thoughtful and emotional one. In a video shared to her Instagram page, Kim Kardashian-West revealed that her husband gave her the gift of her late father, famed attorney Robert Kardashian, Sr., in the form of a hologram. She captioned her post:

Hologram from Heaven

For my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad. It is so lifelike and we watched it over and over, filled with lots so tears and emotion. I can’t even describe what this meant to me and my sisters, my brother, my mom and closest friends to experience together. Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime

The hologram speaks directly to Kim Kardashian-West, wishing her a happy birthday, and goes on to talk about how proud he is of her, the businesses she’s created, her family, and even dances and sings along to a song that he says he played in the car while taking her to school.

The hologram also said that he was particularly proud of the fact that she was following in his footsteps and working to become an attorney:

Most impressive is your commitment to become a lawyer and carry on my legacy. It’s a long and a hard road, but it’s worth it. I’m with you every step of the way.

Robert Kardashian, Sr. was most well known as one of the attorneys for the infamous double murder trial of NFL Hall-of-Famer O.J. Simpson. The “Trial of the Century,” as it was known, proceeded for nearly a year before O.J. Simpson was acquitted of the charges on October 3, 1995.

Robert Kardashian, Sr. died from esophageal cancer, also known as cancer of the esophagus on September 30, 1995. O.J. Simpson, who had been friends with Robert, Sr. for a number of years, reportedly shared the sad news with CNN himself saying:

It’s shocking when a friend close to you passes. I loved Bobby. Bob was there when I needed him most.

Kim Kardashian-West recently reminisced about her father in a revealing sit-down interview she had with David Letterman for his Netflix show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” She talked about how her father took her and her sister Kourtney Kardashian to court with him without telling their mother Kris Jenner. She also talked about how the trial affected their family at the time:

We didn’t really know what to believe or who’s side to take as kids ’cause we didn’t wanna hurt one of our parents’ feelings.

It kind of tore our famliy apart, I’d say, for the whole time of the trial.
