Mariah Carey’s Sister Alison Carey Sues Her For $1.25 Million For Singer’s Claims That Alison Drugged Her At 12 Years Old

Mariah Carey’s revealing memoir The Meaning Of Mariah Carey is causing a deeper rift with some of her family members.

Her older sister, Alison Carey, is suing the singer for $1.25 million, alleging that she was humiliated over the claims Mariah Carey made about her in the book.

In the chapter Dandelion Tea, the We Belong Together singer alleged that Alison Carey drugged her when she was 12. Alison Carey was 20 years old at the time. Mariah Carey alleged that Alison Carey gave her Valium and then allowed her to go on a frightening car ride with Alison Carey’s boyfriend who had a gun. She also alleged that Alison Carey once threw boiling tea on her.

Alison Carey file documents in the Manhattan Supreme Court Monday, Feb. 1st. She is representing herself and claims Mariah didn’t give her the chance to respond to the allegations and failed to provide “evidence to substantiate” her claims that Alison “disputes,” according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

She said she suffered post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety, and a handful of other health issues after being the victim of an “unsolved home invasion” in 2015.

She accuses Mariah of using “her status as a public figure to attack her penniless sister, generating sensational headlines describing lurid claims to promote sales of her book.”

Alison went on to say in court documents that her issues with alcohol abuse have resurfaced.

She alleged that she attempted to settle the case and sent documents to Mariah’s lawyers on Jan. 8th but received no response.

She’s suing for $1.25 million for “intentional infliction of immense emotional distress caused by defendant’s heartless, vicious, vindictive, despicable and totally unnecessary public humiliation of defendant’s’ already profoundly damaged older sister.”
