Kevin Hart’s Personal Shopper Is Facing Charges, Allegedly Spent Over $1 Million In Unauthorized Purchases

Kevin Hart’s personal shopper is facing charges for allegedly spending more than $1 million in unauthorized purchases with his credit cards. On Wednesday (Feb. 10th) Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Dylan Jason Syer has been indicted and arraigned on multiple charges including grand larceny and identity theft.

According to the District Attorney, the 29-year-old Long Island City resident used Kevin Hart’s credit cards from October 2017 until February 2019 and racked up more than $1 million in purchases that his celebrity boss wasn’t aware of. According to reports, Dylan Jason Syer was first connected to Kevin Hart in 2015 through his celebrity shopping business, Sire Consulting. After being hired Dylan Jason Syer obtained Kevin Hart’s credit card numbers under the agreement that he was only allowed to make authorized purchases.

According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz,

“The defendant thought he was beyond reach and was living out his uber-rich lifestyle fantasies. But my team uncovered the bogus purchases – from the credit card charges being processed by the bank, down to tracking FedEx packages delivered to Syer’s home and business.”

The DA added,

“This should serve as a cautionary tale for everyone. Regardless of whether you are a celebrity or not, anyone can fall victim to this kind of fraud.”

Dylan Jason Syer was arraigned on a 10-count indictment and his full list of charges are grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, identity theft, and scheme to defraud. If convicted, he faces 25 years in prison.
