Mathew Knowles Says He’s Leaving The Music Industry
After making his mark with acts like Destiny’s Child and his daughter Beyonce, Mathew Knowles says he’s parting ways with the music industry soon.
He told Page Six,
“In the next two years, I will have transitioned completely out of the music industry… my plan is to be completely dedicated to mentoring, academia…”
He continued,
“There’s nothing negative about [the decision]. I’m personally ready to move on. I’ll continue to teach about the music business.”
Meanwhile, he’s working on his latest venture, the Mathew Knowles Impact podcast, which premiered on iHeartRadio recently.
The father of Beyonce and Solange Knowles said he’s “going to have a familiar family member on as a guest.”

While he didn’t reveal who, reports suggest his ex-wife Tina Lawson could make an appearance.
He also hopes to include other notable guests like Vice President Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Wendy Williams, and Oprah Winfrey.
But will a Destiny’s Child reunion will take place before he leaves the music industry?

He said last year:
“Each one of those ladies are successful in their own right. Michelle has done exceptionally well in the Gospel arena. Kelly has done exceptionally well in TV and we know the success of Beyonce. So they all have their individual solo careers and, so, coordinating family, careers…that’s a lot of juggling. I’m sure in due time the ladies will decide if that’s what they wanna do. If they do it or do not, I’ll [be] as supportive as I can be as their [Destiny’s Child’s] manager.”
